Day 2: Grinding

It’s no secret in the neigong/qigong community that the 2nd most difficult part of training is maintaining monk-like celibacy. It is critical to refine seminal jing to qi. Without it, there is no practice and very little progress. The first most difficult part? Laziness.

Today was especially difficult for me celibacy wise. Any kind of practice that opens up space in the body boosts libido significantly (white skeleton, etc…), and qi packing lying down is no exception. I felt my libido roar as I was trying to generate heat in my LDT. Honestly it was a bit of a burden. I also had vivid horny dreams but that didn’t cause any leakage, thankfully.

Apart from that, I did a lot more time today than I did on my first day. However, I don’t feel like I actually did enough at all. I’m still struggling with all day awareness because I’m avoiding embryonic breathing while in non-meditative postures. I can’t always find the ball, and it’s quite difficult if I’m just walking around casually.

However, I am glad that I didn’t break and I’m glad that I actually practiced. 🙂 I know that with time, everything I ever wanted will come to fruition.

Today I did #1, #2 (properly and better than I did yesterday), #3 for 3 minutes (hard but not too hard, it got easier after 2 minutes), #6 for 110 minutes (I didn’t feel like sleeping again during somatic meditation, so I opted to do sitting up practices in the morning and evening), #8 (fell asleep again but woke up towards the end of the practice lol), and #10.

Interestingly, with standing ball practices, I can actually feel the ball sporadically swirling inside me. This is kind of new, because I can normally only feel it when I’m lying on my bed or in seated practice. I like that. I hope to be able to walk around while playing with it 😀 one day.

So I did just shy of 3 hours today. I’ll make sure to incorporate the 10 points practice and earth breathing tomorrow because I feel like I need more space, especially in my central channel.
